Services Overview

    Purification services

in the area of Life Sciences using crystallization methodologies for the purification of macromolecules. Purification is usually the most expensive portion of a protein manufacturing process. Crystallization permits to streamline protein purification processes. Protein purification by crystallization as an alternative tool offers a number of benefits such as eliminating a number of columns, decrease the time taken for purification, decreasing the volume to handle, no sophisticated equipments, and overall reduction in cost of manufacturing. Protein crystals are more pure, more stable and more concentrated than soluble material. Protein crystals allow substantial savings on purification columns, eluants and processing time. The crystallization process can be easily scalable to 30 – 50 kg. ProCrysta technology allows the inexpensive crystallization of protein right from the broth of a fermentor in bacterial or fungal fermentation, from cell culture media and from transgenic sources. ProCrysta provide services for the development of both research and scaling up of the crystallization process.

            Analytical services

in the area of Life Sciences: ProCrysta Protein Analysis package includes SDS PAGE, isoelectric focusing, amino acid analysis, protein sequencing, N-terminal sequencing, C-terminal sequencing, peptide mapping, glycosylation analysis, disulfide bridge analysis, molecular weight, post-translational modifications, extinction coefficient. In addition, Procrysta provides services in the area of aggregation, oxidation, deamidation,  identity, purity and homogeneity by a number of chromatographic techniques like size-exclusion, ion-exchange and reverse phase

    Formulation services

in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences using crystallization of macromolecules for the stabilization and concentration, extended release formulation, formulation with very high protein concentration (100-400mg/mL). Crystalline proteins present a uniquely stable form of protein with the highest possible concentration of a protein. The suspension formulation of protein crystals does not increase the viscosity by increasing the protein concentration thus enabling for delivery of high protein concentration and also helps in change in route of administration. Crystallization conveys numerous benefits in the formulation such as extended release, high concentration, low viscosity, high stability. Crystalline proteins can be delivered either by oral, parenteral, pulmonary, topical routes.
